MCVI offers an ICD support group called the “Lucky Tickers.”  The purpose is to provide a comfortable setting for ICD implant patients to interact with each other.  It also provides an opportunity for patients to ask questions.  There is a speaker each month to inform patients of new advances in Electrophysiology.

Lucky Tickers Speakers Schedule for 2009-2010

The meetings are scheduled the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Michigan Cardiovascular Institute - Saginaw Office.  The meetings will run from September, 2009 through May, 2010.  

October 21st, 2009 - Stem Cell Research
Jane from MCVI research will talk on Stem Cell research studies.

Nov/Dec - We hope to have our Annual Holiday Dinner if we can get funding. I am checking into this.  You will receive a separate invitation to RSVP if we can proceed with the dinner.  The date will be early in December.  If we cannot get funding to proceed with the traditional Holiday dinner, Tiffanee and I may organize a “potluck” meal. 

January 20th, 2010

February 17, 2010
Jason from St Mary’s cardiac rehab will talk on Cardiac Rehabilitation and exercises.

March 17, 2010
Dr. Sallach, a Cardiologist from MCVI will talk on Noninvasive Diagnostic testing.

April 21, 2010 - Cardiac Drugs
Karl, the Pharmacist from Covenant Mackinaw will talk on the various classes of cardiac drugs.

May 19, 2010 - Dr. Yunus. 
His topic is unknown at this time.
